| DDC is the "Key" HDMI extenders commonly condition the high-speed video signals, but ignore the DDC signals (shown in pink). What is DDC? It stands for "Display Data Channel"–the part of the HDMI signal that carries the critical "HDCP key" information that must be exchanged from source to display in order for the HDMI connection to operate. A perfectly intact video signal can't operate on its own in the world of HDMI–if the DDC line fails, the HDMI link will be broken and the image and sound will disappear. How Do We Do It? The 1391A HDMI Extender restores DDC information and high speed video/clock signals compromised by the effects of long cable runs. It compensates for capacitance, cable skew, and other negative factors, effectively extending the distances HDMI can be transmitted without any negative impact on the picture or sound.
