WARNING

Updating the bootloader involves some risk. If power is lost during update,

if the file on the USB drive is corrupted, or if any serious error occurs while

during the update, then the unit may be rendered inoprable and will require

factory service.

Read all instructions below and be sure you understand the process before

proceeding.

1. First unzip and copy all the files to a USB drive, and place it in the USB

port on the ADX rear panel.

2. Back up the current ADX settings to the USB drive using the menu export

command (only necessary if there are settings that need to be retained).

3. Disconnect AC power. Push and hold the front panel knob and apply power.

4.  The display says "Bootloader - Insert USB drive" while holding in the knob;
release the knob; the drive contents are shown. Select the "ADXBLREP.S19" file.

5. The system controller firmware is updated; wait until the update is complete.

If the message "Press knob to reboot" is shown, do so; otherwise, the unit

    automatically reboots.

6. The bootloader repair utility loads; when you see the message "Insert USB drive"

    press the knob.

7. Select the "ADXBL200.BL" file. The display says "Firmware update complete".

8. Disconnect AC power. Press and hold the knob and apply power.

9. Release the knob and select "ADX_V210.S19" from the USB drive.

10. The firmware update finishes and the ADX automatically reboots. The firmware

versions on the menu now show v2.1.0 for the main firmware and v2.0.0 for

    the bootloader.

11. If you backed up your settings in step 2, you can now use menu import to return

the settings to the state prior to the firmware update.

12. The update is finished and the ADX is ready for normal operation.
