AVAtrix Multi-Zone Audio Using Digital Audio

Application Example 4: Tracking Mode
This AVAtrix configuration is the best way to implement surround sound in the zones while keeping the amplifiers in a centralized equipment rack. It requires the 1173BK Multi-Zone Audio Router with Volume Control in "Tracking Mode", using the digital input on an A/V receiver (AVR) for each room. The 1173BK audio output #1 below tracks with the AVAtrix Cat 5 output #1 so that the audio always matches the video at the zone. Volume is controlled using IR signals transmitted through the Cat 5 receiver in each zone and routed to the correct A/V receiver through the 1173BK. Up to 18 zones could be supported in this way, by adding expanders (See 1173BK user manual for details).
