CMX-144 Firmware Upgrade Notes

Version 1.1
March 22, 2010

CAUTION:
Before updating the firmware, make sure to write down any stored settings (Ethernet) that may be important. This firmware update changes the format of some of the saved data and thus forces an erase of the stored settings on the first boot.

Improved IR Compatibility

IR timings improved for better compatibility with Control4 and URC remotes.

Permanent Restriction Feature Revision

The Permanent Restriction feature no longer cancels when the zone that set the restriction switches off of the restricted zone.

In this revision, permanent restrictions prevent a particular zone from accessing a particular source indefinitely or until a deliberate allow command (Serial or Ethernet) has been issued to clear the restriction.

The commands for issuing a permanent restriction have been changed as follows:
  • [R,P,Z#,I#] activate a permanent restriction on the specified zone and input combination, preventing the zone from accessing the source input.
  • [A,P,Z#,I#] removes a permanent restriction by allowing the specified zone and input selection.
It is impossible to restrict any zone from accessing at least one source.

Zone/Source Mapping Improvements

The [?] serial command has been changed to display the table of zone/source mappings including restrictions:
  • Z# represents ZONE # and S# represents input source #.
  • X represents the currently selected input source
  • V represents the currently selected video source (break-away)
  • A represents the currently selected audio source (break-away)
  • T represents a source that is unavailable to be selected due to a temporary restriction.
  • P represents a source that is unavailable to be selected due to a permanent restriction.

Zone 1X PP
Zone 2TX
Zone 3T VA
Zone 4P  X

  • Zone1 is connected to source 1, is unable to select source 3/4 due to permanent restrictions, and has a temporary restriction active which prevents all other zones from accessing source 1.
  • Zone 2 is connected to source 2 and is unable to select source 1 due to the temporary restriction active on zone 1.
  • Zone 3 is viewing source 3 and listening to source 4. It is unable to access source 1 due to the temporary restriction active on zone 1.
  • Zone 4 is connected to source 4 and is unable to select source 1 due to a permanent restriction.

The new mapping command is: [?,(V),(X),(Z#)]
  • [?] displays the table.
  • [?,X] displays all zone video/audio selections, temporary restriction status, and minutes until expiration.
  • [?,Z#] displays only the specified zone video/audio selection and temporary restriction information.
