UniDrive System Application Diagram

In the scenario diagramed above, a customer wants all the electronics for a well-decorated living room to be hidden from view except for their HDTV. The integrator responds by locating a satellite box in a centralized equipment closet some distance away, but now has the challenge of transmitting the high definition video and audio signals to the HDTV without major cost. By simply running two Cat 5e cables from source to display, and utilizing an AVP-11 UniDrive kit from Audio Authority, the connection is made simply and quickly.

The AVP-11 includes two components – a compact, single-output transmitter (9880T) and receiver with variable distance compensation (9880).

With the AVP-11, two Cat 5e cables carry component video, digital audio, analog audio, and an IR control pathway between the source and display over a distance of up to 1,000 feet. The integrator connects an IR receiver to the 9880 Cat 5 receiver’s provided IR jack, and an IR emitter to the 9880T Cat 5 Transmitter to complete the IR control path.

After connecting the appropriate cables, the video display receives pristine HDTV images and sound. The IR control pathway provides the integrator with a reliable control solution, and the customer loves the clean appearance and the ease of use.
