OverviewThe 1388 converts video resolutions to and from a variety of PC and HD formats, and provides both an HDMI input and output. It accepts audio embedded in the HDMI signal or external analog and digital sources of audio. The 1388 accepts HDMI signals from Cable and Satellite receivers, DVD players, Blu-ray Disc players and PCs and many other HDMI sources. It is useful for converting the source video signals for compatibilty with HD displays and distribution systems.
Audio Applications The 1388 is also useful with audio distribution systems. It converts two channel digital input (HDMI or optical) to analog output for an audio distribution system, and simultaneously embeds the digital audio in the HDMI output for displays in remote zones. The 1388 embeds audio from external sources (supports Dolby Digital and DTS multi-channel surround as well as 2-channel PCM) and outputs it in the original formats. Variable audio delay provides correction for lip sync errors. Key Features Video Features:- Accepts and outputs resolutions up to 1080p and WUXGA

A: No. The 1388 can pass multi-channel audio to the digital outputs, but if two channel audio output is required, the source must be set to output 2-channel PCM digital audio to the 1388. Q: I can hear some audio using the 1388 analog output but why is the soundtrack dialogue not audible? A: The source is probably set to output multi-channel surround sound. What you hear through the 1388 analog output is sound from the left and right channels, without the main center channel. Set the source to output 2-channel PCM audio for a true stereo analog audio output. |
