Q: Can the 979R convert my Dolby Digital or DTS signal to 2-channel analog audio?
A: No - the 979R can only accept two-channel PCM as an input signal type.

Q: My source is in Dolby Digital or DTS - how can I use the 979R?
A: Go to your source's setup menu, and select "2-channel PCM" or "PCM" as the audio output mode. You may be able to make a similar selection in a DVD's menu, but that selection will only last until a new DVD is inserted. Make the adjustment in the player for permanent changes to be saved.
