OverviewThe HLX™ System is easy to configure to your exact requirements. It distributes HDTV signals up to 1,000 feet away to convenient zone receivers mounted wherever televisions are to be located. Optional audio zone cards feed multi-channel amplifiers to distribute music to zones. Its robust back plane design allows up to 12 sources to distribute component video up to 1080p, along with analog stereo audio, digital coaxial audio, and digital optical audio. Four audio sources may be added, for a total of 16 source inputs. | | IR Routing
The HLX includes an IR routing system that is unique in the industry. The new HLX offers individual IR outputs for each source. This routing system allows IR signals returned from a zone to control only the source currently routed to that zone. This design is vital for installations including multiple cable or satellite receivers of the same brand. The HLX also includes a Main IR Output for all signals returned from the remote zones.
Note: IR Routing is not a viable control method for all installations. Before planning to use the HLX system's IR routing capability in your installation, contact our technical support personnel for more information. |

A: Use the HLX Configurator to design a custom HLX, then call with your order. Custom configurations are shipped fully assembled and tested. Q: Can I use just one Cat 5 cable to zones that require component video with no audio or IR?
A: Yes, if you use a Model 1110 adapter, any HLX dual Cat 5 output can feed a Model 1180R or 1180RD single-Cat 5 zone receiver. These receivers offer component video and digital audio, but no IR pathway, and no analog audio connections. Q: Why doesn't the HLX include a remote control?
A: The HLX is a professional grade matrix, designed for integrated systems that use comprehensive control system such as Control 4, RTI, Crestron, or URC. If you are not comfortable with this level of programming, check the CEDIA website for a custom integrator in your area. Q: What are the main differences beween the HLX and the AVAtrix?
A: The AVAtrix is a very effective system for small matrix applications, but the HLX provides many advantages over the AVAtrix in capacity and design. The HLX has a maximum capacity of 12 sources, compared to the AVAtrix maximum of six. The HLX offers ethernet control, and many other features not available on the AVAtrix.
