New App for SonaFlex Control

The SonaFlex App is great to use as the primary interface with the SF-16M in stand alone applications. You can use this app for everyday tasks like selecting sources, changing volume, loudness, treble, bass, and muting. It uses the SonaFlex zone control feature to control multiple outputs at once, simplifying control from the front panel.

SonaFlex App Q&A

What can I do with the SonaFlex App?
With the SonaFlex App, users can choose a source and adjust audio settings in each zone over a network using an Android smart phone or tablet.

Is the App complex to set up?
Go to the app setup screen and enter the SonaFlex IP address – you are ready to start using the App! To customize Zones, Groups, and Overrides, you'll need to use the PC or Mac Setup Utility. Once you set up multi-output Zones, you can select sources and change volume for Zones; the same goes for Groups and overrides.

How many users are allowed?
An unlimited number of users are possible, but the SF-16M allows up to four network connections at once, so four people can actively use their apps at the exact same time.

Basic Mode vs Advanced Mode
The app is designed primarily for day-to-day operation in Basic Mode, using the SonaFlex multi-output Zone feature; however, an Advanced Mode is available, which allows operation per speaker output, and allows seven different DSP filters (whereas Basic Mode offers bass and treble only). Advanced Mode is designed as a tool for custom integrators; others should use Basic Mode.

How do I divide up the outputs into fewer Zones?
Zones can be set up from the front panel, or by using the Windows or Mac Setup Utility.

Can I use the App with Control4?
The App is not recommended for use with Control4 or any control system that has its own way to divide outputs into rooms or zones. Custom Integrators may wish to use the Advanced Mode for specific setup tasks, such as fine tuning the DSP settings on individual outputs.
