Fabricating Cat 5
For long cable runs, fabricate cables from Category 5, Cat 5e, or Cat 6 wire. Terminate each end with RJ-45 plugs.
Test the cables with a professional network cable tester. Continuity testing is not enough. Test for correct pairing.
